What is a 3D printed replacement part?

A 3D printed replacement part is a new plastic part for a machine you already own. The old one broke, wore out, or was dropped. The maker no longer sells it. We rebuild the shape and print it, so the machine runs again.

Whatever you have. A file is fastest. A broken part is fine. A photo with rough sizes is enough to start. You do not need CAD skills and you do not need a drawing.

Which parts are worth printing?

Most small plastic parts are. If the old part was plastic, a printed copy usually works. If the part was metal, we look at load, heat, and wear before we say yes.

Good picks: covers, guards, guides, knobs, clips, spacers, chutes, hoppers, and mounting plates. These are shapes, not stress members. They fail from age and impact, not from load.

Harder picks: gears under real torque. Parts that run above 140 C. Parts under steady pressure. Anything that holds a person up. Tell us the job and we will say plainly if plastic is the wrong answer.

One more note. We print parts you have the right to make. If you are not sure about a part, check before you order.

Which plastic holds up in service?

PETG is our default for shop and plant work. It reaches about 50 MPa and holds shape to about 73 C. It takes impact and shrugs off most shop solvents, which is what a machine part meets all day.

PA-CF is the pick when the part carries load or sits near heat. It is our strongest plastic at about 80 MPa. It holds shape to about 140 C. It also wears better, so it suits guides and bushings.

ABS is the middle pick for heat, at about 40 MPa and 98 C. TPU is soft and belongs on a seal, a bumper, or a pad, at about 35 MPa. PLA stays indoors and cool, since it softens near 57 C. Compare all five on the materials page, or read the specs for PETG and PA-CF.

We can print the copy a bit thicker than the old one. That part broke for a reason. A thicker wall or a rounded inside corner fixes the weak spot. Our 7 design checks flag the same issues on any file you upload.

Can you reorder the same part later?

Yes, and that is the point. Your file stays in your account after the first order. The next one takes about three clicks. You do not re-quote and you do not re-send anything.

Your price is locked for 30 days unless material prices move. Teams can share one part library. The shop lead orders, and the buyer sees the cost.

Many plants stock two of a part instead of one. The spare sits on the shelf. That is cheap to do here. The per-part price drops as the count grows, and there is no minimum order.

How fast can you get a replacement part?

Most orders ship in 2 to 5 days. That clock starts when we have a printable file. We print and ship in the USA, so customs never holds your parts.

Common questions

Can you make a replacement part if I only have a photo of the broken one?
Yes. Send clear photos with a ruler or a caliper in the shot. Add the few sizes that have to be right. We draw the part from that. The redraw is a flat fee, and we credit it against your first print order.
Do you need a CAD file, or can you work from a physical sample?
A sample works. Mail in the broken part, or both halves of it. We measure it and rebuild the shape. A CAD file is faster and cheaper, so send one if you have it. STL, STEP, OBJ, 3MF, and PDF drawings all work.
What happens if the OEM part is not sold anywhere?
That is the normal case here. Old machines outlive their parts lists. You do not need the maker, the drawing, or the part number. You need the shape. We rebuild that from the broken piece or from photos.
Can I reorder the same replacement part later?
