OPM: Outdoor 3D Printing Material for Sun and Weather

OPM stands for outdoor performance material. It is a plastic in the PCTG family, a close cousin of PETG, and it is made in the USA. We print it in black, red and yellow.

It exists for one job: parts that live outside. The maker describes it as comparable to ASA, with UV and chemical resistance that holds up outdoors long term. That is their claim, not a test we have run, and we would rather tell you whose claim it is than repeat it as our own.

Buyers usually ask for ASA when a part has to sit in the sun without going chalky or brittle. We do not offer ASA. OPM is what we offer for that job, and it prices instantly instead of waiting on a person.

Indoors, it is usually the wrong spend. PETG costs less and handles most working parts, and PLA is cheaper again for parts that just have to look right.

We publish no heat number for OPM. We have not found one from the maker, and we do not invent figures. If your part gets hot as well as wet, tell us how hot and we will work it through with you.
