How to report an error
Email quotes@3dprinterondemand.com. Tell us the page address, what the page says, and what you believe it should say instead. If you have a source for the correct number, send that too. We read every message.
For the rules behind how we write and check a fact in the first place, see our editorial policy.
What we do when a fact is wrong
We do not just edit the page you saw. Every operational number on this site is read from one file in our code, so we fix the record the page reads from, and the fix follows a fixed procedure:
- We change the module that owns the fact: pricing, size limits, our provider tables, materials, or the plain sentence itself.
- We run our full test suite. One test proves every page's numbers still match the record they are supposed to read. A second test proves no page kept a copy of a phrase we already retired.
- If we are retiring a phrase entirely, we add it to our list of retired phrases, and that test suite tells us every remaining place the old phrase still appears so we can fix all of them, not just the one you found.
- We update our own written record of facts in the same change, so the record and the code never drift apart again.
That is the real procedure our team follows internally, not a promise written for this page alone.
What we do when a fact is retired
Sometimes a fact is not wrong, it is just old: a phrase we used to say that we no longer stand behind. When that happens, we add the old phrase to a list our test suite checks on every change. That test then fails, on purpose, for every remaining page that still uses the old phrase, until we have fixed every one of them.
When we log a correction visibly
We log a correction here when we change a number a customer could have relied on: price, lead time, part size, a material limit, or a safety limit. A wording change, a typo fix, or a layout change is not logged here, because it does not change what you could rely on.
The correction log
No correction has been logged yet. This log is append-only: we add a real entry the first time a customer-relied-on number changes, and we never remove one after it is added. An empty log with a real policy behind it is more honest than a made-up history, so we are leaving it empty until we have a real entry to add.
