What Happens to Your Files

Your part is your part. We print it for you, we do not sell it, share it, publish it, or print it for anybody else. You can ask us to delete it and we will.

The rest of this page is the long version, written plainly, because a page that says “bank grade security” and stops there is telling you nothing. Precise beats impressive.

Every page on this site runs over an encrypted connection, so your file is encrypted while it travels from your computer to us. That covers the instant quote uploader and the review form both.

You do not need an account to get a price. If you would rather not send a file at all until paperwork is in place, do not. Email quotes@3dprinterondemand.com first and we will get an NDA signed before anything moves.

Uploaded files go into private storage on our hosting provider. Private means there is no public web address for your file. Nobody can guess a link to it, and nobody can browse to it, including someone who already has an account here.

The database rows that describe your part are locked down the same way. Our public website key cannot read them at all. Only our server, holding a separate key that never leaves the server, can open your file or your part details.

Three groups, and that is the whole list:

• You. It is your file.
• Our team. The people who price your job, check it for print problems, and get it made.
• The US production network we print on. When you place an order, your file goes to the machines that make it. That happens on order, not on quote. If you only ever get a price, your file never leaves our storage.

Nobody else. We do not sell files, we do not license them, we do not put them in a public model catalog, and we do not print your part for another customer. We also do not use your geometry to train anything.

We keep your file so you can order the same part again without re-uploading it. That is the whole reason it stays. A repeat order that makes you dig up a file from eight months ago is a bad repeat order.

We also keep the order records themselves, because we have to. Tax and accounting rules require a business to hold its sales records, and that applies to us like anyone else. Deleting a part file does not delete the record that you bought something.

Email quotes@3dprinterondemand.com from the address you ordered with, tell us which part, and we delete the file. We confirm in writing when it is done, within one business day.

Two honest notes about that. First, once a file is deleted you cannot reorder from it, so you would upload it again next time. Second, we can delete our copy but we cannot reach into a backup snapshot and surgically remove one file from it. Backups roll over on their own schedule.

We sign a mutual NDA on request and counter-sign within one business day. Send us yours, or use ours. There is a copy of our NDA template you can download and hand to your legal team before you talk to us at all.

If your company needs the NDA in place before any file moves, say so first and we will hold off. This is normal and it does not slow anything down on our end.

Being specific about security means being specific about the gaps too. If any of these is a hard requirement, we are not the right supplier and you should know before you upload.

• We are not ITAR registered. Do not send us defense articles or technical data covered by export rules.
• We do not hold a SOC 2 report, an ISO 27001 certificate, or any other security audit certification, and we are not going to imply one.
• We are not set up for controlled unclassified information, and we do not offer a government cloud environment.
• We do not offer on premise printing or a private machine dedicated to one customer.

What we do offer is a small team, a clear answer about where your file lives, an NDA when you want one, and a delete button that is a real person who actually does it.
